Chaos Chaos New EP S Out Now
Playing Seattle's Crocodile On December 2
KEXP Session To Be Broadcast December 3

"Chaos Chaos's songs have heavily layered echoing voices and a dreamy texture of synthesized melodies. It's an unusual sound that is catching the music world off guard." - Bust

"S features five songs of the sisters' trademark synth pop sound with a slightly more mature electro-pop edge." - IFC

Chaos Chaos, the new project of Asy and Chloe formerly of the band Smoosh released their new EP, S this fall to critical acclaim. S received praise from Nylon, Bust, IFC, Interview Magazine, Lucky Magazine, Magnet and more. Chaos Chaos recently opened for Tegan and Sara at NYC's Bowery Ballroom and were inspired to record a cover of the band's "Closer."" In December Chaos Chaos will head to the west coast to play at the Crocodile in Seattle on December 2 and perform a KEXP live session on December 3.

The duo's five song EP branches out in different directions stylistically. Chloe says "The EP was influenced by NPR, The Moth, and random radio stations we'd flip through." Asy adds, "The EP is very personal because this is a time in our lives where we've decided to take bigger risks and in order to do that you have to become very vulnerable."

As Smoosh, Asy and Chloe put out three full-length albums. Their debut She Like Electric was released in 2004 when Asy was 12 years old and Chloe was only 10. Over the years the band toured with Pearl Jam, Death Cab for Cutie, Sleater-Kinney, Mates Of State, Jimmy Eat World, Cat Power, Nada Surf, The Eels and Sufjan Stevens, among others. The band also performed on Yo Gabba Gabba and Jimmy Kimmel Live.

In 2012, two decided it was time for a change and formed Chaos Chaos. The duo recorded songs on S with producer Nathan Rosenberg at The Doghouse Studios in Brooklyn, except for the track "Winner," which was recorded with Matt Tong of Bloc Party. There are dance, blues and electronic elements on the EP and the songs blend electronic instruments with acoustic piano, drums, a trash drum kit, saxophone, and experimental vocals. The duo launched a Kickstarter project to fund the EP, featuring the trash drum kit used on the EP as well as artwork created by the band. The project succeeded its goal within the first day.

"I think we are having the most fun making this EP because we have never approached music this way before. The whole process feels like an adventure. It will also be very exciting to bring this EP to a live setting (which will involve the Toys R Us Big Piano, a trash drum kit and vocal processors)".
